The lack of pediatric forms of certain medications may lead to application errors in medication.
The aim of project is to produce nanofiber orodispersible drugs that offer precise dosing and ease of use for children, newborns and premature children.
Polymer solutions of different concentrations, which were prepared in the production studies, were filled into injectors of appropriate flow and placed in electro-spinning device. The flow rate, the distance of injector tip and the collector, the voltage applied, such as changes in values for the nanofiber production optimization studies were made. In the optimization process, besides the simple preliminary examinations like the system parameters, the products produced can be exited from the production table while changing the solution concentrations; they are not dispersed while holding, studies such as fiber structure under the microscope and determination of dissolution rate were also performed.
As a result, nanofibers were produced by adding propranolol hydrochloride, furosemide, and spironolactone active substances separately to the solutions which can easily be removed from the production table and form fibers with fast dissolving structure in the mouth. The important advantages of the fibers produced for drug application purposes are that; they are solid and physico-chemically resistant, there is no risk of dosing error as in suspensions because they can be produced in unit doses and via its flexible structure, it can be folded and reduced to the desired size and there is no risk of shedding as powders.
